The Denison Community School District
founded in 1856, is located in west central Iowa, approximately 70 miles southeast of Sioux City, 70 miles northeast of Omaha, and 90 miles west of Ames. Included within the district's 172 square miles are portions of Crawford and Ida Counties including the incorporated cities of Buck Grove, Deloit, Denison, and Kiron.

School Closing and Delay Information
When weather threatens and we are forced to make the decision of having school, please tune into KDSN (107.1 FM), watch local cable (channel 18). All families in our district are linked to AlertNow via PowerSchool. AlertNow allows us to use voice, email and/or text messaging to communicate school announcements and closing information.
